In order to unravel the travesti memory in the city of Crato, Cariri region, in the interior of Ceará, I present a sketch of the image of Capela from the narratives told in the memories of the second half of the 20th century, from the mid-1960s to the 1980s. Thus, I follow the horizon of ethnobiography with the aim of following the stories that germinate through the temporalities of everyday life by listening to fifteen interlocutors from two different generations. From January 2017 to July 2021, I found confabulations that cross his experience through homosexual ways of life and prostitution in the city. Capela was more than just a “faggot of chapiado”. She feared the withering rays of God, speculated about the triangular penis, talked about the pleasure of ass in the streets, walked with the whores and faced police authoritarianism with bravery.
