Resumen

Pocos estudios sobre redes interorganizacionales (RIOs) consideran el carácter dinámico de la cooperación y los cambios que ocurren a lo largo del tiempo. El estudio analizó los cambios ocurridos entre 2004 y 2011 en dos RIOs constituidos por fábricas de muebles en Rio Grande do Sul. Para analizar la trayectoria de las redes se seleccionaron tres variables: gestión de la cooperación y resultados obtenidos por los participantes; el ambiente relacional de la red y la confianza entre los participantes; y apoyo de agentes externos. Se verificó que, a pesar de los resultados positivos que esas redes obtuvieron en 2004 y del desarrollo de un ambiente relacional favorable entre los empresarios, la complejidad gerencial y la ocurrencia de eventos críticos llevaron una de ellas al cierre y la otra a reducir las actividades cooperativas. Generar nuevos beneficios a medida que cambian los intereses individuales y ocurren eventos críticos es un desafío para la gestión de RIOs.
