APRENDIZAGEM DA FINITUDE: UMA LEITURA DE ESTRELA DA TARDE, DE MANUEL BANDEIRA

Abstract

ABSTRACT: The article performs a reading of Estrela da tarde, the last book by Manuel Bandeira (1886-1968), to highlight the presence of an admirable learning of finitude as the great theme of this work. For this, in dialogue with the thought of Martin Heidegger about the poetic, we will privilege in our interpretation the listening to the saying of the language that resonates in each interpreted poem. Thus, we hope to demonstrate how the mentioned learning – one of the foundations of Bandeira’s poetry – finds its telos, its fullness, in Estrela da tarde, creating several possibilities, as the thinking of the death of the other and for the other; the tragic relationship of love and death; the glimpse of a preparation for death and a schedule for after death; beyond the link of finitude with the sacred that marks the last verses of Bandeira poetry.
