Abstract

In this article we analyze the experiences lived in the indigenous communities of the Cinta Larga and Terena people, through the male and female indigenous voices, both of whom are inhabitants of the Midwest region, one resident of the municipality of Juína - MT and the other resident of Sinop-MT. We applied a semi-structured discursive questionnaire, via WhatsApp application and personal e-mail. The approach used was International Sociolinguistics. Through the ethnographic method, the questions contained in the interview script dealt withsituations experienced in the socio-environmental field and in public policies regarding the culture and rights of indigenous peoples. In order to know what are the biggest challenges that the Cinta Larga and Terena indigenous peoples face nowadays to maintain their cultural and linguistic practices, according to the vision and reality of each ethnicity. The text also makes a brief historical contextualization about the exploration of biodiversity and the ecosystem. Before the conclusion, we weave a topic that portrayed a little of the Brazilian indigenous history and its linguistic practices.
