Health education as a strategy for improvingquality of life of hypertensive users

The study aims to analyze the practice of health education for nurses at the primary care network as a strategy for improving the quality of life of users with high blood pressure. It is a descriptive, qualitative research with nurses who perform health education activities with hypertension. To collect data it was used a script guiding from April to May 2011 subsidizing the analysis proposed by Bardin. It was found out that nurses understand the importance of conducting health education with users, even if this practice present traces of this model of health education that overlaps the scientific knowledge at the expense of the people. It is necessary to search for a theoretical foundation for nurses to ensure an awareness of the dialogic health education process, ensuring the user’s quality of life.Published
