as construções identitárias femininas no romance O Alegre Canto da Perdiz, de Paulina Chiziane
Abstract
The present work seeks to comment on African literature of Portuguese expression focusing on Mozambican literature, the work chosen for analysis is the novel O alegre canto da perdiz, by writer Paulina Chiziane. We consider that the author works with a social, cultural and identity perspective in her works, mainly through female characters. The work presents the story of three women from the same family of different generations who try to get out of the vicious social circle, that is, try to live a better life than they are socially destined, and for that, the best way for them is to marry white man. Therefore, the article aims to analyze the construction of the identity of these women. Beyond that, the work seeks to expose the remnants of colonialism through the characters and the erasure of African culture due to colonization and racism. For this, this article is based on studies of Cabaço (2007), Hall (2011), Bhabha (2013) to analyze identity, colonialism and liberation studies; Fanon (2020), Memmi (2007), Munanga (1986) to expose the studies of black literature and racism; and among other authors.
