Abstract

The article discusses recent changes in Brazilian politics with the rise of conservatisms and fundamentalisms in public policy,especially in the fields of gender and sexuality. The objective is to demonstrate how strategic changes in technical management shapeconservative agendas and lead to setbacks and dismantling in access to government services, policies and programs. It collaboratesfor the evaluation of the Brazilian sexual politics, in particular, those for women, people living with HIV-AIDS, LGBT communities andothers, when approaching the construction of axes and margins that came from games of forces and disputes between multiple socialactors. The methodology includes the analysis of documents, official acts of the State in decrees, ordinances, technical standards,reports and other media materials. Besides that the article approaches controversies and public positions of civil society entities onsexual rights, including addressing the repercussion of such matters during the COVID-19 pandemic in Brazil.
