Abstract

The objective of this article is to analyze the legacy of a female leadership within a Catholic institution, highlighting the representations around her persona produced throughout the history of the community. These are the representations around Emmir Nogueira within the Shalom Catholic Community. Based on documentary analysis, field research and interviews, during a research carried out over a period of three years, starting from a theoretical framework that
deals with the production of collective memories, life narratives and the production of collective identities, Emma is considered as "human", "subaltern" and "auxiliary" of the male figure, Moyses Azevedo, and is pronounced as "happy" for being the "auxiliary."
